I have both my desktop and laptop running Vista Ultimate and I just noticed that MM 2.5.3 works on my laptop, however 2.5.5 isn't working on my desktop; it plays one song then crashes. The only other difference between the two systems is that on the laptop I upgraded from XP to Vista so I didn't have to reinstall MM, but on my laptop I did I fresh install and wiped my drives before installing Vista (that's also why I have different versions). When I get home from work I'll try 2.5.3 on my desktop to see if it's just a difference between the versions or if there's some other problem.

Just installed 2.5.3 on my desktop and I'm no longer having a problem with Vista. Can anyone else confirm this?

Yes, I can also confirm you are no longer having a problem with Vista.

I shall be praying to Satan! (I'm a heavy metal fan, it's sort of required.) I reckon that way we cover all both options, and everybody wins!

(mememe better watch it. john lennon said the beatles were more famous then god, and a short time later he was shot 6 times and died)
interesting historical revisionism... referring to the hysteria surrounding the Beatles, in 1966 Lennon "We're more popular than Jesus now".
Later that year he said "I suppose if I had said television was more popular than Jesus, I would have gotten away with it. I'm sorry I opened my mouth. I'm not anti-God, anti-Christ, or anti-religion. I wasn't knocking it or putting it down. I was just saying it as a fact and it's true more for England than here. I'm not saying that we're better or greater, or comparing us with Jesus Christ as a person or God as a thing or whatever it is."
Lennon was later killed in 1980 which my math works out to be 14 years later - not exactly a short while later which I would suggest might disprove a causal relationship between his statement and his demise.
and btw, I think you meant whether not weather

Will you please stop the discussion about the Beatles in a thread that is about the ETA of MM3.0!?
In a week or two I will migrate to Vista and it looks like I must abandon MM after many years. That's more important to me than some geek talk about some band.
Are there any official statements about the ETA of MM3.0, even an Alpha that is working in Vista?
I tried several versions and builds of MM2.x and never was successful in even starting the program.

I apologize for all the delays with 3.0 release, it should be _really_ close now, definitely not later than the next week.

There's no problem waiting for something good and I know that you've been working much lately to get this release finished.

The alpha sounds very cool-- but my question is, how long after that until the final's released?
