I want to tag various artist and genres in this form

OST; Movie and Stan Getz;Joao Gilberto


But i only get two modes in iPod nano 2G

-only first genre artist is copied

OST and Stan Getz

- all is copied but all is a unique genre/artist

OST; Movie and Stan Getz;Joao Gilberto


There is any way to have the same song under OST and Movie genres?

no, iPod doesn't support it.

Yes, the option is set to auto-sync. I may have excluded some folders during one of the tries, but I know that I also tried it several times not excluded any folders.

Are you sure you checked the option to "confirm deletion"?

Positive. And even the option to Confirm Deletion. Checked them both several times. As I said, the first time I synced my iPod with MM, it worked as it should - asked me if I wanted to delete, etc. Now, it just skips over that part entirely.

Does anyone know the importance of selecting or not selecting "copy album art to track tags" under "device configuration"? I ask because i have mine checked, and my album art keeps getting mixed up ... for example Rachel Yamagata now has a Descendents cover. Is leaving that checked causing the problem, or does it not matter? Currently I'm trying to rebuild the database to see if that fixes it. The funny part is that all the covers show up right when viewing the files via MM or iTunes, just messed up when viewing on the iPod itself ...

It shouldn't make a difference for iPods, they read art from a database that MM has to make specifically for the iPod. I'd leave it disabled so you save the extra space.

i already posted about this but was redirected here...
my ipod has been managed exclusively with itunes, but one of my drives crashed and i'd like to copy over the music on my ipod that was on that drive and maintain the filepaths if possible. i have backups of media moneky and itunes databases (the mediamonkey database has all my songs, the itunes db only those that were synced.. far fewer).. i'm sort of doubtful i can do anything like this but it's worth a try to not bork all my extremely long playlists!

You're going to have to use MM's auto-organize to organize the tracks to their old folders: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... rticleid=3

just a few questions... do I need to have a drive with drive letter e:\ in there to do this? or can i copy the things to another drive with the rest of the original paths intact?
i have not yet switched my new drive to be E:\ because i'm worried if I do and boot up mediamonkey it will erase all the db info for the removed drive (which now show up as Files2). I'm a bit paranoid to plug in my ipod in case everything on it gets erased.. even though i've killed all apple/itunes related processes..

As it says at the wiki article I linked to, the drive letter can change but the rest of the path has to stay the same.

when i plug in my ipod with only mediamonkey open it immediatly says 'synchronizing device' (on my ipod) this makes me extremely paranoid and causes me to unplug it immediately

just since there's nothing for it to synchronize to. don't want everything getting deleted. but my guess is that it does this whenever its being read from and it should be ok.. but i'm gonna back up all the data on it just to be sure i guess
