Non-existent Playlist handling

When I r-click an entry and choose Send To|Playlist, 4 of the 5 shown in the upper 'Recent' section are invalid Playlists, which I deleted ages ago. I accidentally chose one of these (it was at the very top, and it had a name very similar to a new Playlist I'd just named). I did this a few times, and was getting puzzled why none of my tracks appeared in the Playlist I had in mind, before I realised my mistake.
I think MM should:
1. Automatically remove deleted playlist names.
2. Prompt user if an entry is sent to a non-existent playlist.

Rusty - I also get the same problem.
I have been updating MM for a year or so by overwriting the old versions. I have not uninstalled old versions.
I am using v2.5.3.968 (Gold)
When I click on a file - SendTo/Playlist - it shows several old playlists above a horizontal line, then my new playlists below the line. When I updated to the latest version all my playlists vanished, so I made new ones.
I never worried too much about the old lists above the horizontal line as I knew they didn't exist anymore. Thought it was something left over from an old version.
It would be nice if I could get rid of the non-existant playlists.

Yes I have one old playlist that I cannot get rid of from the drop down selection box after I deleted the playlist from the playlist node in the tree.
As has been said, it sits above the line along with the current playlists I am using to send songs to.
MM 2.5.4.969 Gold
which has been installed over the top of earlier releases.

Did you try the "File>Maintain Library" command? (With compact database selected). The playlist table in the database could also be edited using MS Access.

I had the same problem.
I did a "windows" search inside of my music library for the filename of the playlist. I found all five of them stuck inside random music folders. There was no logic or consistency to where they were.
I deleted them and restarted MM. They're gone.
