Can anyone direct me to the Mantis issue for the addition of the auto-adjustment of track paths when a portable installation and its tracks are moved together? Or suggest how to search Mantis for it (given Mantis has no free text search)?

This change must be somewhere between:

* 4.1.4.1709 - moving a portable install and its tracks sitting in an adjacent folder to a different path (e.g. on a USB stick, replugged and changed drive letter) would leave MM unable to see the tracks - due to outdated track paths in the database.

* 4.1.31.1919 - no such problem, indicating MM must adjust the paths somehow. Great! ( viewtopic.php?p=502909 )

Are you sure that's useful, given the fail is absent on the current version, 1919?

It was multiple issues fixes and tweaks where MM detects correct settings in Portable subfolder and accordingly use relative paths instead of absolute ones like before.

That fails if MM is moved but tracks not moved, right?

MM Install folder and settings do not influence MM DB which point to tracks based on Partition Serial not drive letter.

NOTE: If you moved tracks from obne folder to another outside MM MM will treat them as new tracks and grayed old ones.

Then could you explain the new relative paths for tracks? E.g. relative to what?
