We're starting a short test cycle for MediaMonkey 2.5.5. It's mainly a bug fix release, but also adds synchronization support for iTunes phones. Let us know what you think!

What's new in 2.5.5.980 RC-1 ?

• 2536 Added synchronization with Motorola iTunes phones
  2663 Fixed synchronization with Zen Vision M: ratings don't synch back to MediaMonkey
  2661 Fixed player UI has graphic artifacts on some systems when tagging
  2654 Fixed album art doesn't synchronize to 2nd Gen iPod Nano
  2660 Fixed disc burning problem on some Win9x/ME systems (hpcde 1.99.3)
  2595 Fixed wav tagging bug when ASCII tag contains local language characters e.g. umulauts (thx unzerpum!)

• 2677 Fixed iPod synchronization: synched playlists can't be played by iPod's alarm clock
  2691 Fixed iPod synchronization: when some scripts are used, ratings appear off by 1 star
  2690 Fixed conversion can change the length of a track and/or append small part of next track
  2683 Fixed visualizations can trigger an access violation in some cases
  2684 Fixed scanning a wav file can cause MM to freeze

As many of you have discovered, we introduced a bug into build 988 that causes the Send-to context menus to fail.

Hi,

The holiday spirit (read: Heineken) is obviously having an effect on my testing capabilities. Here's a new build that fixes the bug introduced in RC-4 that causes the Send-to context menus to fail (it also fixes the remaining aspect of the problem that existed in Now Playing in build 989).

  2768 Fixed synchronization never completes if auto-synchronization cannot convert a file
  2765 Fixed File Monitor can cause links to album art to be lost in some cases
  2779 Fixed updates to ID3v2.2 tags causes Album Art to be lost
  2771 Fixed conversion of tracks with embedded art to OGG/FLAC creates a link to no art
  2759 Fixed some tracks aren't playable with the MP3 plugin when WM cannot process ID3 tag

Thanks to some prodding by Teknojnky and Mr. Wright, we've decided to post an update to version 2.5.5 that includes 2 tagging related fixes.

This will become the official 2.5.5 build shortly:

• 2800 Fixed non-MediaMonkey ID3 fields (unicode) are tagged incorrectly
  2801 Fixed FLAC header not exactly to spec --> compatibility problems with some players

Edit: The original posting had a buggy installer that overwrote some .ini files. This has since been rectified.
