Thread dedicated to strings that do not translate

Hi,

I allow myself to create a thread related to translation problems as this is a recurring problem since a few weeks.

Well, so i start the list to show you an example

MM2.2.1.715:
After exporting a tracks list to any format, the final message "Export was completed successfully." cannot be translated.

Octopod,

thanks for this thread. Your example is part of the bigger problem that the scripts haven't been internationalized. But Jiri told me in another thread that they'll fix this.

When hitting "del" from a "My computer" node, the end of the question is not translated :
" Are you sure you want to delete X track ? "

Thanks

Hi all,

Here is the list of problems related to localization with alpha3; these strings do not translate (new ones or regression):

- Album browser: when maximized, "Restore" on contextual menu
- Main menu "View", tooltips: "Show now playing / album browser / visualization"
- Main menu "Player", tooltips: "shuffle tracks" & "continuous playback"
- Main menu "Tools|Advanced tag mngt", tooltips: "Remove tag ID3vX" (x 3)
- Main menu "Tools", tooltips: "Change/level volume for selected tracks"
- Still no tooltips related to min/max/close buttons of the main frame (?!)
- Tray control: "Now playing", "My rating"
- Options: the node of the option "Tags&playlists"
- Options|Library: "ignore tracks shorter than XX Kb" ("Kb" is missing)
- Options|Player: the 2 first options display the same string "input plug-ins"
- Options|Tags&playlists: "ID3v2 text encoding" & "Use Unicode ...."
- Options|Previews: "preview length XX sec" ("sec" is missing)
- Confirmation message when deleting a track from a "my comp" node
- Contextual menu from Now playing: "Options" > "Show titlebar / now playing controls / player controls"
- Player tooltips: "open file" / "shuffle" / "continuous" / "show now playing"
- Status bar: "MB"

Waiting for the next strings version... :)

Note:
i observed that during french installation (InstallShield's localization??) a few strings are still in english and a few others are in a very bad french... also, installing MAD plugin can only be done in english.

Hey, still me...

Please distinguish "select all" in the following contexts :
- Contextual menu when handling text: "Select all"
- Options|General|File types: "Select all"

(or enlarge the buttons in the option page!)

For plugins you might want to inform the user that they are most likely installed in English (in help or plugin options) and specify this with the MAD plugin in the MM installer.

Buttons in Options dialog were resized - later there will be added automatic buttons resizing depending on the translated string length.

The "About"-Panel is in English and not localizable - you might want to change that, because it contains legal stuff...

Zyb,

part of the about message is localizable, and in particular the legal info is (I'm seeing it in Spanish). The thanks part is in English though...

Most of the things that were not translated in Alpha 3 (as described by Octopod) are still not translated after the last localization update. For example, many tooltips are in English.

The export scripts are 100% localizable now. Good work!

Missing localization entries in Alpha4

Pablo,

The newest .po English source file includes strings for most if not all of the missing/untranslatable entries that Octopod had pointed out.

Are you saying that when you translate the new/previously missing entries, they don't appear? (if the new entries haven't been translated in the new .mo file, then the source English text is used).

Search - Sort order

In both normal and advanced search the drop down box fields aren't translated in Alpha 3.
Not sure if the translater didn't or they aren't available for translation.

Rusty,

Yes, I've updated my .po file using the lates .po source, translated the new terms, and I still see lots of tooltips in English. There were only about 10 new terms to translate...

Any ideas of what may be going wrong?
