MM 2.2 Alpha 2: Alt Key character error

Postby Lowlander on Sun Feb 29, 2004 7:14 am

When typing a special character like ñ with the alt (alt 164) the character is placed a space back in the textbox and not in the space the cursor was located. I have seen this behavior in both the advanced search and the track properties window.

The ë (alt 137) is actually placed at the beginning of the textbox.

Some very weird behavior.

Found the cause

Postby Lowlander on Sun Feb 29, 2004 5:48 pm

Here is some more research.

When pressing ALT 1 the cursor is moved the end of the textbox.
ALT 7 brings it to the beginning of the textbox.
Alt 4 one space left.
Alt 6 one space right.

The cause of this is num-lock being off. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be like that or not, let me know.

International characters using the <Alt> key

Postby rusty on Tue Mar 02, 2004 5:25 am

I've never used these international-character shortcuts before, but according to: http://www.forlang.wsu.edu/help/keyboards.asp , <Numlock> must be enabled in order for these shortcuts to work.

That is cool! We'll keep a check on num lock.
