their both dark blue because they are the same thing.

you need to look in the image section of the theme.mskn file when you open it in the theme skin engine. one of the images i think it is with the client panel? has the color set to it.

just click the image and then look on the right in that list you will see several bmp's / png. what ever images are used then you will click on the one for you the image you want to change the color on you will need to check the different colors there are listed and see what you want to use.

you can then use the check button on the engine to check and see what you changed and if it worked.? lots of trial and error.

but you will notice a lot of the colors like that are picked from different images and use a left and right angle lines to outline the exact area of the image used, that you want to use as the color for something..

I can't find any image with that colour in it...

also.. wouldn't the image then need to be tied in an object anyway? - what object is it?

or does it just use a windows theme colour and doesn't actually pay attention to the theme?

Hey

The two colors (objects) you mention are the same as Windows' theme colors. Therefore, I think that the Themeengine used by MM doesn't support modifying them or that your skin (just as most skins) are missing the objects for them.

well the skins like steegy said might be made to use windows colors.

i did however find that i was able to change that useing images.
and telling the theme engine that it was to use only a certian section
of the image to use as that color seleted color.
the images used can be any image in your theme.mskn file
but the selected color option is located on one set image just what that
one image is off hand i don't remember?

i'll go look and see where i changed mine at. 8)

okay i'm back

OOPS I just re read your post and see you wanted to change
the marker colors. i did not do that. what i was telling you was
how to change the selected color. the marker colors i am sure
can be changed also by that same panel on the right but i have no
idea what to double click on or change to get them changed.

but they are windows theme colors like steegy whom is awake said.
you can change them on your system i bet.
but weather or not
they change in the skin is unknown.
some things will that way
some things wont.

here is how to change the selection color or image.

under the object list.

go to the listbox.
go to the item.
then look on the right you will see a line for bitmap.
double click on that line it will open the image panel with the image in
that is used for that item.
and that item is what is used for the color
selection.
just adjust the two lines on the image you choose to use it will allow you to set the color with just one or two pixels or use the whole image.

do the same to change other items on the menu bar header and other places you want to change images or colors on.

tthanks roving cowboy for all you effort.. unfortunately that doesn't work..
I think you've misunderstood what colour I want to change..

not the selection colour
not the inactive selection colour
but the rollover colour when you drag files onto a node

in my second pic at the top, while the printscreen didn't capture the mouse.. you can see the faint outline of the selected files I'm dragging over the node which is turning blue.. but to the right you can see that I already have changed the normal selection colour.

If I am missing the objects for them, as you say steegy, where can I find out what objects they need to be so that I can add them in?

yep while you were posting that i was editing my last post.

but i just did the change your after it is one that is of uselessness for the skin creator to change.

because it is in fact controlable by the desktop theme of the users computer.

so if you change it even by that panel in the right the users theme on their desktop would over ride that and use its own color.

It will be possible to modify this in MM 3.0.

ah? okay i am picking up on a hint here jiri?

in order to change that you either figured out a way to make it in the right panel and have it be locked.

or you using a new skinning engine for the rest of media monkey besides the new engine for the player skin?

which is it?
and how hard is the learning curve?

oh and your welcome DaledeSilva 8)
