Floppy drive being accessed

I'm having an odd problem where MM is trying to access my floppy drive (A:) every time I play a song and also when I move to the next or previous song.

I've searched the forum and found an unanswered post here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13546

Also found this one:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1562

I've tried everything I can think of to solve this problem, but can't find a solution. Some info:
  • - I am running WinXP and MM 2.5.5.996 Gold version.
    - I only have the one floppy drive (A:)
    - I checked that I have "IgnoreDriveLetters=AB" in the ini file
    - I even tried adding other drives to the Ignore statement to eliminate other possible causes.
    - I checked in TweakUI to make sure all nonexistent drives were not enabled.
    - I've never used my floppy to store music and have never used MM to copy anything there.
    - I do have a memory card reader attached to a USB port, but I've tried disconnecting that and adding it to the IgnoreDriveLetters statement.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In one of the previous posts, one of the users which had this problem cited that he had an internal zip drive mapped to E:

When he added E: to the ignore list - the problem went away. This seems to imply that MM no longer ignores specified drives when there is an active drive which hasn't been specified to ignore at startup.

Taking that possibility as a cue - try adding all possible drives to the ignore list ( other than C: and D: ), ie:

IgnoreDriveLetters=ABEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

I know that seems a little exagerated, but it's worth a try.

Thanks for the idea, but I have already tried that. Still had the same problem.

When did the problem start, Easye?

Has anything system specific been configured, installed or introduced as new since installing MM?

FIXED!

Well after MUCH looking, testing, trying, and pulling my hair out I finally tracked down the problem.

I actually commented out the entire scripts.ini file and removed all autostart scripts to eliminate all those possibilities also. Which didn't help.

The problem ended up being with the audioscrobbler portion of the Last.fm client. Apparently there is a bug in it that tries to access the A: drive even if you tell it not to. The problem can be fixed though!

See this post: http://www.last.fm/forum/34905/_/172297

Hope this helps someone else if they have similar problems.
