I get a dialog box that says:

Error.
System Error. Code: 6.
The handle is invalid.

Discussion:

When I'm away from my machine I usually leave MM playing. I lock the computer by hitting WinKey-L. After installing Alpha-3 I have gotten the above dialog box pop up over my locked Windows login screen. The only option on the dialog is "OK". It has happened 3 times so far, each time while the machine was locked.

Two of the three times, I clicked on OK and logged back into Windows to find MM not responding. The third time I clicked on OK and the same dialog box returned immediately. Each click to dismiss the dialog brought back another such dialog. That made it hard to unlock the screen because I only had a second or so before the dialog would return. In hindsight, perhaps alt-tabbing to the password screen would have worked, and perhaps not. I don't know if the error dialog was modal or not, I just remember needing about 10 tries to get my password typed in before the error dialog interrupted me each time.

After returning to Windows, MM was hung.

A followup...

I neglected to say that I often times place MM into party mode first, and then lock Windows. I think that's why the dialog comes up on top of the windows login screen.

it sounds like an hot key mix up?

monkey don't know that that pair of keys are being pressed for.
so it locks up thinking an error happened?

but it might just lock the windows explorer when you do that
and monkey is using the windows explorer, so it locks monkey.

it sounds like the first one i said but acts like the second one i said. maybe monkey 3 needs some sort of ignore code for those buttons?

One more followup...

This does NOT have to be when MM is in party mode. It just happened again... I had minimized MM to the systray and then locked Windows with WinKey-L. Now playing contained ONLY songs by Pink Floyd. I left the machine for a while (maybe two hours) and when I came back there was a dialog on the screen over the Windows login screen.

There was a song playing in a 12 second loop. It sounded like the very end of a song, but I'm not sure which song it was. Some obscure Pink Floyd song. (A lot of their Psychedelic Rock from the 60's & early 70's were real dogs!)

I logged into Windows and MM icon was still in the systray, but no amount of clicking, double clicking or right clicking would do anything. There was however something new that caught my eye. The bubble text of the MM systray icon says "Van Morrisson | Celtic New Year 0:20/6:12" Now that has me thinking that it seems that that is the bubble text every time this happens, but I'm not yet sure. I'll notice next time it happens.

I get the same error, only it involves skype. And this started only after installing Vista. Can somebody give me a clue as what to do to make it stop?
