Alpha 4 Bugs/Comments

Bug: Tip of the day box blank. Next Tip button called up another blank tip, too. This was after I hit ok to clear my database after upgrading from Alpha 3. (After rebooting the program, they appeared like normal.)
Bug: In the Album Art View (With track list on the right side). Clicking on a song when the list is larger than the view pane is still a collosal mess. The scrolling just seems to be the opposite of what it should be.
Bug?: Not all tag properties are in the Auto-Tag from Filename option. I was hoping for Disc#.
Bug: In the Album Browsing mode. (Covers only) Album Art keeps reverting to one album in the middle. (Displays is on Currently Selected song, not currently playing.) Also, clicking on the side, flickers between the two rightmost albums.
Bug: AudioScrobbler (Last.FM) plugin still causes crash on boot.

Bug: docking of windows in skins if moved window to lower right it only goes to small square leaves players that are fixed size players on left and empty area between the docked window and the player.
when trying to move something in to that empty area it will not go.
if i grab the player and move it down it will then pop in to that area and fill it all in from the left to the right or to the center where the docked windows left border now sets after i move it back down to the lower right corner.
something seems to making another docking area not specified yet?
Answered: the above docking bug was fixed with a couple reboots. now the docking in the corner is working and allowing the resizing of the window being docked.
Bug: the buttons for play / pause that are called as
" Play " and " Pause " no longer show up.
only the "Play/Pause" button shows up.
also the buttons of shuffle and continous don't and do show up on the same skins the play pause buttons do not,
shuffle shows up on one skin but not continous,
and on another both don't show up.
i'd like the button called as " Play " and " Pause " and the "Continous" and "Shuffle" to work as wanted on some skins such as the converted or redid MM 2 skins that require the two buttons.
Answered: the buttons were not working because of change in alpha 4 on how to code them. the above is fixed in
the skins i made now.
Bug: button to use / show the track browser does not work.
Answered: Yes it does but only if there is a playlist selected. so this is not a bug.

Bug: having the mouse over the ratings area on a player
makes the program go berserk. you have to look at the border
to the right of the player to see it. but you will see flashing of colors.
if you use a player that is made to be fixed size the whole
player goes berserk when that mouse is just hovered over the
ratings area..
take a player that is not fixed in size make it small as you can and put it on the left.
put the now playing list to the right docking window besides the player make the now playing large enough
to fill in the dock area,
place the mouse over the ratings area
again and watch the right side of the player go berserk.
does all that with any skin.

Yeah, right now I'm sure my page looks like I've gone deaf.

Rebuilding my library, and the GUI was dancing all over the place, as if an extra line at the bottom was appearing and disappearing quickly. The effect was that, the "now playing" window was resizing constantly.

I can reproduce this over and over. Let me know if you need a sample file.

You do not need to ask about posting.
If you can always reproduce the bug? Make LOG, add sample, ZIP/RAR and Send to MM support.

the reason for the above bug is something to do with
the "Statebuttons" none of them work in the converted mm 2 skins of mine, of Esthetic hi fi and monkey hi fi. but they work in my other skins just not those two the only thing they have in common besides the graphics i used were some of the same.
is they both have buttons called "Play" and "Pause".
i don't belived i can fix it. with out making those in to normal buttons and not state buttons.

Tracks Updating While Reading In Library for First Time

What is MM3 Alpha 4 doing when it's "Analyzing Volume n of nnnn"? Instead of just reading in my library's tags in for the first time, it appears to be updating many, if not all, of the tracks for some reason. I'd rather not have it update anything unless I tell it to. Any ideas?

I've seen this with MM2.5 as well - for some reason merely reading tracks (e.g. to convert them to .ogg and sent them somewhere) seems to cause some tags to get re-written - enough, anyway, to persuade my autobackup software that the tracks have changed and need backing up again. All 60GB of them.
Why it needs to do volume levelling when the database says that all tracks already have volume information I'm not clear. But yep, it is going to generate another huge backup run.
Back to MM 3.0 - I got an error 5 'file in use, can't be replaced' error on decoder.exe and in_vorbis.dll. I had un-installed the old 3.0 version, but maybe I needed to log off, reboot, or sacrifice a couple of goats??

You have to uncheck auto analyze files with missing analysis.
This feature should be off by default (IMO).
