Well, i don't know if it can be possible, i'm used to use iTunes by its features, ratings and all that stuff, i was surfing the web and i found this, inmediately downloaded it and i noticed it has everything i ever wanted from iTunes and even exceeds my expectatios, the problem is that i've been using iTunes for a long time and i want to switch to media monkey, but what it will be a hard job for me is to create again my playlists and my ratings, is there anyway to do this in a faster way?
I say this because i have around 35000 mp3 and it could be soooo difficult to do it again, maybe there are some software out there that can help me to do this, but i don't know, i have searched a lot and found nothing, can someone help me? at least just to say that i have to do the job again?

Ok from your less then prefect english i am thinking your from another country but your use of english is 98% correct

for both of you.
anyway i was able to make this out of your statement.
" you are a itunes user. and have got use to using their way of doing things. but you found this and fell in love with media monkey, now your wondering if you have to re-make all your playlists."
If your mp3's have the ratings saved inside the mp3 tags in the file then they should show up as normal.
your playlists can be used if they are " .m3u " and i believe you can also import them to media monkey's librairy.
I hope this helps you and i hope i was correct in understanding what you want.

Well I don't know which format your songs are in. If MM support it you can have MM scan the directory and it will import the songs. Including playlists stored there.
If iTunes supports the standards MM will pick up the ratings, otherwise it might not as MM follows the standards (other progs sometimes use their own systems).
If MM doesn't pick up the ratings you could create playlists per rating. Then in MM you select the playlist and rate all songs on it with that rating.
You'll need to enable m3u scanning in the file types list in the add/rescan dialog. A list of supported file types can be found on the mediamonkey website and probably the help.

Wow, we are very international
But my first problem is the import of my ~5000 Mp3 and their ratings from iTunes. In iTunes i can backup my database with all the ratings, genres and all the other important things in an XML-file. Now i want import this XMF-file into MM

.
iTunes don't support my Archos Jukebox and i would like to change from iTunes to an other MP3-managing Program. Maybe MM ist the right Program for me. But i hope that i don't need to give my MP3-collection completely new ratings. If it's so i looking forward to an other program...
I hope you can understand me.
Sorry for my bad english

Well you just need to try to scan the files into MM and see if MM picks up the rating.
If not you could create M3U playlist files (if possible in iTunes) and import those. These playlists would be per rating value (so one for 5 stars, one for 4.5 stars, ect.)
Than in MM you would select all the files on one of these playlists and edit their properties. Change the rating the the rating they should have and all files have been updated in a quick manner.

I try this before i wrote here and it has no effect. I think iTunes don't write the rating into the ID3-Tag.

This is a very good idea. Maybe it's a little bit more easy if i copy all different rated files in an seperat new folder (named "5" for 5 stars or so). This one needs a lot of diskspace but is more easy and safe.

This is an easy way to do so. Yes, i think that can i try.
Tomorrow i will do it
Thank you first time.
I will report what happened.

Going by folder is an easy way. Maybe even easier than playlists if you don't really have a formal folder structure for your music.
In any case you can do auto-organize files afterwards to organize files in a directory structure if you wish (something like My Music/Artist/Album/Artist-Title.mp3. Again you can do that on multiple files.
did it work?

Have same problem as postings!!!
iTunes does not saves ratings to MP3 actual files ID3 tags!!! It only stores changes to iTunes database, for protection of harming media files; nor you can't erase media files.
Then, how to sync or trasfer iPod ratings to MM. Rebuilding the database feature in MM doesn't do it. Any help?
