RC2: Album Art Views + Unicode [F4079 RC4]

Running MM3 RC2 (though the problem was noted in RC1 as well; I didn't use 3.0 until then)... I noticed that in the Album Art views (Album Art or Album Art with Details), if the album title or artist name contained any Unicode characters, the art would not display. A blank white square would appear in its place. However, this was the only situation in which that blank art would occur. If the song was playing or selected, its album art would display just fine.

So you can see the art displayed just fine in the bottom left, and if you look at the other albums displayed, you can see that the ones with Unicode titles are the only ones with blank art (right-clicking and choosing to "enlarge image" also displays it just fine).

Also to note, this is not a skin issue; I had the problem consistently with multiple different skins.

Just wanted to say that I'm having the exact same problem when the album is tagged in Japanese, Korean or Chinese (or the folder uses names written in those languages is probably more likely to be the cause), and it's still present in RC3.

EDIT: No, it's not the folder names that are the problem. It's appears to be enough that the tags are written in such languages.

I confirm the same problem too. Only Unicode MP3 files can be played. But Unicode APE files seems to be failing. They are in black, but when I click them to play, they get greyed out and skipped. All the Tag information can be read successfully however. I have also sent the debug logs to support.

Re. missing album art in AA view--thx, added to the todo list.

Re. unicode APE tracks not playing--should be fixed in RC4.
