Conversion not saving meta data in 1109 [4149]

I'm using build 1109 and trying to convert files in the library to another bit rate. The meta data is not being saved to the new/converted files on conversion.

Is this intentional or am I missing a step (didn't see anything in the UI) or is there a bug?

Any ideas?

Metadata not being saved on conversion

bjm,

Metadata seems to be transferred correctly in RC4, though I did notice, that in some cases album art didn't migrate correctly. Is that what you're referring to?

If not, please provide more specifics (e.g. audio format, linked vs tagged art, straight conversion or auto-conversion).

Thx.

Ok, here's what I'm doing using build 1116.

Upon First run, I point MM to the folder to import. The files I'm importing are WMA, a variety of formats from VBR to lossless, to CBR. These source files have all the metadata in the files (album title, artist, title, track etc). In addition to the usual stuff I also have the album art stored in the file itself as well as song rating. Upon this first import, everything imports and displays in MM just fine.

Next I want to convert the files to a different bit rate so I do:

- Tool Menu
- Convert Audio Format...
- [select all my options and use WMA 192Kbps CBR 1-pass]
- the files convert just fine, but no meta data is in the converted files

Does the help?

bjm,

Can you send me a zip file containing 3 tracks that exhibit this problem?

Thx.

My guess is that it could be somehow related to old/corrupted WM components on your machine. Try to install the latest from http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/WMFDist11 ... 86-ENU.exe , maybe it would help.
