Alternate UI?

First things first... great job. I am really pleased with all that I have seen so far. If this works out for me I will upgrade to Gold just to be a financial contributer.

Here is my situation. I have converted all of my music to MP3s. I have dedicated a PC for entertainment. I want to display the output of the computer onto the TV, and then the audio output into my stereo. All that said, I can't find a program anywhere which has a suitable UI for a TV. To be suitable for TV, you need an abnormally large font.

Your program would be perfect if a handful of screens could be selected for TV-out. If you could launch a list of just artists, albums, and playlists, then with a remote control and a TV you could navigate a whole lot of music options. Playlist setup would largely be done via the computer, not the TV interface.

Is there any chance you could squeeze something like this in in the near future, and if not, is this the type of thing that could be done with a plug-in?

Again... very nice work.

I think that changing DPI of your screen could help. When you change it to a different value (in Control panel|Display|Settings|Advanced), the font size is changed and all should be approriately updated in Songs-DB too.

If this doesn't work for you, then probably options for changing font type/size/color will do the job. This should come in one of the next versions.

The DPI does not work. The lowest you can go in windows is 800x600, which when converted to the 330 lines of output which a TV supports is just about unreadable, unless you can control the font and make it very big. If I could control the font, I think it would work out for me.

I have just found your software... how often do you put out releases and is there anything I can do to weight the priority of this requirement?

Again - your stuff looks great and I anticipate your next release(s).

I don't mean the screen resolution (800x600), but DPI (by default 96, I guess), you should get to it the way I described in my last post. The DPI, when changed, increases size of everything, but keeps the same resolution (I simplified it a little).

Anyway, you can purchase the Gold version, if you want to support further development...
