Podcast Filename Mask - Need Help

This is my current mask

Code: Select all

C:\MMPodcasts\<Album>\<Artist> - <Title>
Some of the podcast titles are the same. This causes weird names.

Could I put the podcast date in there somehow to act as a more unique identifier? That would also help me sort them in my player.

For instance:

Code: Select all

C:\MMPodcasts\<Album>\<Date> - <Artist> - <Title>
But that doesn't work :(

Or would this work?

What if there was a script that went through the entire library, and prepended the podcast date to the front of the file name?

For example....

Alton Brown - Cookies.mp3

would become

20080109 - Alton Brown - Cookies.mp3

Of course it would also have to rename the file as well as make the database change.

I've never written a MM script. But I am a ColdFusion and PHP programmer. Would this be simple?

Have you tried using:
C:\MMPodcasts\<Album>\<Date:4> - <Artist> - <Title>

Good Idea. But That doesn't seem to work.

<date> doesn't seem to be a valid tag, because it just returns a "4-". I applied that mask to re-download several podcasts, and they were all the same for that field.

Is that tag case sensitive? I used all lowercase.

Can we also have Original Date added? I'd particularly like to use it skinning.
