Microsoft Wireless Keyboard problem

Howdy,

Using MM3, I cannot utilize the multimedia keys on my Microsoft Wireless 6000 v2 keyboard. I have read through discussions regarding this, but none of the suggestions get it working. With the previous version of MM (2.5) I was forced to use mmkeys. It worked, but was kind of a kludge.

My keyboard works ok with iTunes (shudder), Winamp and Mediaplayer.

I have been fighting with this issue for some time, and has always stopped me from actually purchasing MM.

Thanks in advance.

so in reading the forum you found my message to the other keyboard thread of going to micorsoft.com/downloads and getting the keyboard drivers updates for ms keyboards?
and did you do that and have it not fix the errors?

:-?

Thanks

Hi,

Nope, never saw it. Yep, searched the forums for a whole slew of work combinations and saw lots of traffic about HP, Gateway and Dell. And this is not the first time I have sifted through the forums either. And no, google does not fair any better. Oh well, I will search for your thread reply.

thanks for you help

I have the lastest software/driver from MS already... forgot I tried that in November (ish) while trying to get MM2.5 working.

Oh well, guess MM is not an option.

okay the only thing i can think of to do now is make a debug report and send it in to them so they can find the answer.

i was hoping the drivers were it, they are the easiest thing to fix.

here's what I have experienced with my MS Wireless KB... when MM first starts up and runs, all multimedia keys work. if the XP Welcome screen comes up for any reason such as a screen saver or if the user hits Windows Key-L to lock the system and force the Welcome screen up, and then you log back in, the multimedia keys no longer work.

exit and restart MM, all is well until the next time the cycle repeats.
