Burning audi CDs: Nothing but buzzing

Post by elmonty »

I burned two audio CDs with MM 3.01.1127 and when I listened to the CDs in my car, all I got was buzzing on one and silence on the other.

I tried it again with on-the-fly burning disabled and got the same result.

I tried burning the CD with DeepBurner instead of MediaMoney and it worked.

I had upgraded to MediaMonkey Gold earlier today, and judging by the CD burning performance, I'm not very happy that I did.

We have never seen such a issue, anyone else noticed this?

Does this occurs for all tracks?
Which type of tracks are you burning? i.e. 'mp3', 'aac', 'm4a'?
Can you send me a sample track?

When you play the CDs by using computer (that drive burned it) is it buzzing too?

Which RW drive/model do you have?

Yes, it occurs for all tracks.
They are mp3 files being burned to an audio CD.
The CD had the correct number of tracks but every track was just buzzing.
The drive is a Lite-On DVD+/-R.
When I play the CD in the computer, it buzzes, too.
The mp3 files are fine, they play in MM and they play on the audio CD created by DeepBurner. I can send you one if you think it will make a difference. Let me know where I should send it.

Thank you,
if you can, send me one to
ls<at>mediamonkey<dot>com
and if you have a time, could you generate debug logs (including hpCDe.log)?
How to do so is describe here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69

And could you please describe me also burn settings:
i.e. Are you burning with CD-Text, DAO ? TAO, which burn speed?
Does MM 2.5 burn audio CDs fine for you?
Which system do you use (XP, Vista, WinME)?

Thank you for your help.

Anyone else noticed such a problem?

can't burn audio cds either

Post by El Cabrito »

I have never been able to get MM to burn an audio CD. I always have problems. This occurs/occured with both 3 and 2 and on multiple comps (all running XP) all gold ed. I never opt for vol. leveling, always try to write CD text, burn speed is set to default for machine, all files that i want to burn from are always MP3. The only thing all comps have in common is that either sonic or roxio on them.

With MM3 the error message i get is
Burn Failed error code: 356868
this happens whether on the fly recording is checked or not.

love the program and wish i could burn cds.

thanks

Could you also send me debug logs (including hpCDe.log) from build 3.0.2.1131 and let me know which burner drive model do you use?

Thank you.

I ran some tests and sent you a bunch of files. It's looking like enabling the CD Text option is part of the problem.
