Strange, I cannot reproduce. It works for me (brings the search dialog) even if the search bar is floating.

What I get:
1 Ensure Search bar is docked
2 Click in track list
3 Press CTRL+F
4 Focus goes to Search box in Search bar.
5 Drag Search bar to float
6 Click in track list
7 Press CTRL+F
8 Focus does not move.

Yes, I see, you don't have the default setting for hotkeys.
You are using "General: Focus search box" for Ctrl+F
instead of "Edit: Detailed search", aren't you?
Ok, thanks, added to our bug tracker.

Ah. How can I tell in general? And how can I restore just the key defaults?
> You are using "General: Focus search box" for Ctrl+F
That's what it says.

That's what it doesn't say... ;)

Run regedit and delete:
HKCU -> Software -> Mediamonkey -> Hotkeys
> You're welcome.
Fixed in build 1136, you can check over this later.
