1207: Toolbar customization resets to default-BUG5121

When customizing the 'Standard' toolbar like removing a few functions keys doesn't seem to save the status of toolbar. Upon restarting MM, the toolbar resets to default layout with default function keys.
Even moving the unneeded function keys to a 'new custom toolbar' and not enabling it still resets the 'Standard' toolbar.
Not that big of a deal but still a minor bug.

Did you check if MediaMonkey exits correctly and completely by confirming it's no longer running in the Task Manager.

I had a similar problem, one of my scripts was conflicting with something. I had to move all my scripts out of the scripts folder, and then reopen MM. Once I made all the customizations I wanted I moved them all back. If you figure out which one it is please share because I became frustrated when I couldn't find the culprit. This has been plagueing me since 1204.

Yes, I did. In fact I tried it several times. The 'Standard' toolbar always resets to default.

None, when I reopen MM my custom toolbars are gone and the MM toolbars are back to the way they were before I started. Something is preventing the saves from being into put into the ini file. I forgot to mention another thing I tried was to create the toolbars in an installation that does not have any scripts and then I copied the [toolbars] section to the other installation. But keep in mind if you create toolbars in different settings the sections may end up separated. Make sure when you copy the info over you have all the toolbar sections to match the count.
Another hint: When you finish making your toolbar changes open the ini file before closing mm. Copy all the toolbar info from the [toolbars] section and close the ini file. After you close mm, reopen the ini file and paste all the info you just copied. When you reopen mm, your toolbars will be there. This is the easiest of all the methods I have tried but it is really driving me nuts not know which script is causing me to have to do this.

Thanks Nyn. Copying the toolbar info from ini worked and seems to fix the issue.

Ok:
It took me hours but I finally narrowed down the list of scripts which are preventing the toolbar customizations from saving, they are as follows:
Bex's Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix
Bex's Last 100
Bex's Tagging Inconsistencies
MoDementia's Custom Properties Panel
MoDementia's Playlist Sandbox
Raybeau528's mmStations
As none of you are aware these are some of my favorites, so script authors PLEASE can you find a solution??

nynaevelan,
what's the ini version you're using ? It should be 102 (you can find it out in System section as IniVersion variable). In 1207 is a fix to don't remove toolbar in case any scripted button is on it. Isn't that the case ?

Ok:
Good that is three messages I do not have to type, BUT you have to wait until your hangover is
completely gone.

Petr:
Yes I am on version 102. No this is not what is happening. When the above scripts are not in the \Auto\ folder any changes that are made to the toolbars are saved when MM closes. However if any of them is in the \Auto\ folder than the changes will save while MM is open but as soon as you close it all the changes are gone. It has taken me days to go through my list to find out where the culprit was, unfortunately until this morning when I was slightly intoxicated I came up with the conclusion that it had to be more than 1 script causing the problem. Unfortunately I didn't realize it would be so many and all of them on my
favorites list.

So to say I want a solution is an understatement. I do have a workaround for now but that might be too complex for most users.

nynaevelan,
maybe it's something with ini management in scripting ? I mean scenario like this :
- script opens ini at startup
- you'll customize toolbars
- on closing script will save changes to ini file (but to old one opened at start of MM)
Can you check this in scripts you're using ?

Petr: I hope you realize all that just went swishing over my head. Now, can you explain how I am to accomplish this, keep in mind I have no idea the technical aspects of scripting.... Just give me instructions and I am fairly capable of following them.
