Suggestion: change the post-install initial Add/Rescan to offer My Music, rather than c:\ as currently.

A good suggestion as scanning all of C:\ can add quite a few unwanted audio files to the library.

Great Idea. Will be more simple for novice users.

Yep, and doesn't have them wondering what all the system sounds are doing in the Library.

I give my support as well along with the possibility not to have all hard drives ticked.

Excellent. Would have prevented me from getting sound effects and other junk in my MM library.

Useless if the music is in another folder(s) or an external hard drive(s).

It's standard behaviour to offer to scan ALL folders/drives for an initial add/scan.
But it should prompt the user to select/unselect locations to scan first.

Novice users sometimes don't even know where their music is stored.

No. It has the same use as when the music is in My Music - it eliminates junk.

"Standard"? What standard??

(EDIT: It is not standard on e.g. Window Media Player. V9 by default scans "C: excluding program folders")

It is a lot easier for them to later scan additional locations than to scrape out the junk scanned by the current behaviour.

Actually MediaMonkey does show the locations dialog so the user can select/deselect the folders/drives required.

And I yeah I think most media software asks to scan everything as they would like to manage everything on your machine.

Come on poeple.

This idea goes towards novice users.
And it makes sense.

I don't have my music in "My music" but I know that
novice users usually have it there.

I don't know if it's because of Itunes or Wmp,
but that's what I usually see with my friends.
They have almost all their music stored in "my music"

User's who don't have it there are generally more advanced and they know how to
set the add rescan.

And who really cares if it's not standard.

Exactly.
