OK have been doing some testing tonight and thought I better post what i've found.

To all who are not aware I am trying to get to the bottom of why ipod play counts do not get synced back to MM all of the time.

Started with a clean 8GB 1st Gen (Borrowed from a friend)

Made a manual playlist containing only 1 album in MP3 format - Auto Synced, disconnect play album, re-connect - MM sees play count & syncs info back to DB

repeated above again, same result

Added another album to above (MP3 format) played second album and synced back - Success

repeated above again - success

second playlist added to list, this time auto playlist. Favourite CD worth - contained mp3 & flac.

Played, and re-synced, success.

Altered auto conversion options ensuring non compatible files were converted to 320kbit mp3, repeated playback, sync, success

Manually added particular albums, mp3 & flac, up to 1GB, repeated playback & sync, success.

So far all tests have been succesfull, which I suppose should be good news. I am at this moment letting MM fill up my ipod with loads of music up to around 6GB capacity and will let you know what happens then.

OK ipod now filled (around 500MB free)

play album, reconnect, resync, no play count change at all.

Repeat above, different album, same issue.

Please can the devs look into this? It is an issue MM is having. I have done the same with itunes and filled the device, and it always modifies play counts.

Twice now with the iPod filled from iTunes, I have played multiple albums and playlists, resynced and playcount has been updated.
