EDIT: This is on non-skinned. And occurs on a fresh SP2 installation.

This is only a tiny flaw but I mention it in case it sheds light on my more serious and long outstanding repaint problem EDIT: since fixed.

Oops, I think that's because at Image shack it was a gallery hence not saved by default. Sorry.

I've seen this as well on occasion with opening/closing dialogs in MediaMonkey leaving part of the menu white.

Guys, is there anything else to the repro steps? This is never occurring with me following the steps outlined.

how did you edit my post?

any way what was missing that is the major thing is i said it has to be windows because of it happening to me prior to my updating to windows xp sp3 and it was doing it on many programs.

but mostly those that use the windows shell.

and i said to speed up your system with prioritycontrol_ static or the new program on majorgeeks.com
just to get the third party apps you want to use running in real time to also see if the speed of the redraw for text
in the windows shell is too slow.

i run all my programs that use the windows shell in real time. including ie 8 and windows explorer and i have not hand it happen yet.
but then again when i said that i did not know if you had sp3 or not. since you have sp2 . i'll say again update to sp3 it has the fix for the text artifact in it.

if this happens on a machine with sp3 on and beta version of mediamonkey then it is possible that monkey has been doing it by some other error monkey has in the beta system.

now the other post readers can see what was said just in shorter version. but how in the ... did you edit my post

i remember posting the quotes but i did not answer my own quotes.?

who ever posted that split quote post with my quotes in, has posted the statement that it happens on a new sp2 install. that tells me its the problem. update to the xp sp3 and it should be fixed.


okay i think i figured out how the split quotes post got posted. whom ever posted it tried to do multiple quotes
of my post but messed it up some how and got it to post by me. because my post is missing and the quotes they posted are missing information i had given in them. so it was messed up by the poster that way,
and since there were errors on the forum yesterday its possible that it was messed up then too.

I don't doubt that, but it my case, it has not appeared in any of the 30-odd other apps running on the machines on which it has appeared in MM.

I am happier to live with it. But for the product itself, I think better would be to eliminate the likelyhood of the cause being in MM.

So sorry, it was me. I hit EDIT instead of QUOTE (I just had to make that slip eventually).

now that just rasied the question of how in the ... can you edit the post when it has my name on and is only for me to edit ? you a mod under a different name? or are you a mod that don't want marked as a mod?

oh that explains it? didn't know you was a mod i have not read that since they put you all in groups.


just thought if you don't want to update to sp3 cause of something that is unknown by me that might be
causing sp3 to mess up on your system.

there was a page on microsoft.com/downloads that listed all the updates included in sp3. you could find that and run down the list of updates and get the ones for the text fixe's if you want to spend the time hunting that page and then going through the list of thousands of updates in xp sp3. i have not looked for that page lately but it was there about 6 months ago.
