1251 - Tracks Inaccessible/DB Corrupted??

Hi All:

I need some assistance but I do not know where to look. I do not think it is a MM bug but something is corrupted in my work db on XP but I cannot figure out what changed and what is causing the problem. I have tracks which are in my library, I verified this by using Bex's Debug Viewer script. Yet when I add them to the NP list, the NP list is acting as if they are not in the db, and when I use the Debug Viewer script on the same track after it was added to the NP list, it now says the tracks are not in the db. And if I close MM and restart, these tracks are now scanned back into MM with a new SongID but the play(s) are now missing. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MM, and starting with newly scanned tracks into the db, the same thing is happening. I do not know how to determine if all tracks are being affected by this or what to do to fix this. Can anyone give me some suggestions how to get my db to work on XP, this problem started yesterday and it was working correctly on Monday?

I can not figure out what the problem is, whether using my existing db or a new db, I still get the same problem with the tracks. I reverted back to 1250, which allows my tracks to play and the playhistory to be updated, but no matter what version I use the mediamonkey.m3u file which is being saved on the close of MM, as soon as I open MM all the playcounts are gone and the tracks are "not" in the db. I tried this as a new install, with or without the scripts installed, and moved my db and mediamonkey.ini back to their original locations, and both the debug and regular versions of builds 1251 and 1252 but none of these actions made a difference. MM is closing successfully and there are no traces left in the taskbar manager, so I do not know what else to try. As I stated 1250 is working in XP. I do not have this problem on my Vista machine at home but on both locations the mediamonkey.ini and mm.db files are in the MM installation folder. I have uploaded a copy of my ini and db files to here.

I hope someone can help me because I would like to progress with the latest builds on both machines.

Duno, sounds like something with the media's table or mm detecting the media id of the drive(s).

are you running under admin priv or regular/restricted user?

have you rebooted the problem machine?

is it an external or internal drive with the files on it?

you could try doing a debug log of MM startup, scan a folder with a couple files in it and try to play them, and see if any strange errors occur in the log.

Admin

Yes, it didn't make a difference.

external, I tried disconnecting it and reconnecting it, that made no difference.

Will try this now. Thanks for the help.

Thank you, there were two instances of my media drive in the medias table, and since the incorrect one had an earlier number, MM was picking the wrong one. But once I deleted that one, all is well again.

Thank you for your assistance. :D
