MediaMonkey 3.1.2.1267 (Beta 2) & Syncing iTouch

Updated to the above from 1266, put my iTouch 32Gb on and MM could see all 18gB of music previously synced some time ago with MM3.1
I then allowed iTunes to update to 9 and update the iTouch to 3.1
After this MM could not see any music, iTunes could but of course wouldn't access it (manually controlling music)
I synced a GB of tracks to the iTouch from MM3.1.2.1277 and that showed immediately but showed my available space as 11gB the difference between other data on the device, the previously synced music and the recent 1gB sync.

So now I am completely locked out of 21gB of space on the device. I transferred (backed up) all my paid apps to iTunes and then reset the device to factory setting.
Now! I can't get the apps back, the iTouch is showing complete empty space but everything has gone because of some failure of the iTunes backup I guess but brought on by
MM not syncing correctly. Nothing I could do in iTunes would remove the tracks and free up the space leaving my apps in tact.

I can now sync beautifully with MM but have lost a small fortune of apps and am still not sure if Apple has any resolution for this. Not the end of the world I know but...
I would strongly advise the following to anyone else wanting to sync with MM after this recent upgrade.

If your iTouch is visible in explorer and is showing in MM
Go to your tracks within MM and remove them.
Then and only then do a new sync with the upgraded release 1277

Maybe this is recommended practice, I don't know, I never had to in the past and I have NEVER lost my apps off any iPod device in the past.
If you don't do this you will end up like I am - spending all this weekend trying to get Apple to take notice!

Apps are linked to your online Apple account so you can just redownload them from the App store at no cost.

I have already tried that and I wish it was that simple. Before I went back to factory setup I transferred all apps to backup on iTunes, but it's not seeing them now.
No doubt I will sort it out in time.

It should be that simple as I have already been through the same thing and was able to restore all my apps that I previously paid for.

I agree with you. I can see all the apps purchased in the account summary, but no where is there a way for me to re-download them.
I'm sure I will be able to find a way to contact Apple Support and have this part of my problem sorted out.

I just downloaded them from the App store like you would normally. You aren't charged since Apple knows you've already paid.

Damn! you just beat me to the draw :-) I had just discovered that and have started the process of re-downloading. Thanks for your help - as always.
I am always amazed at how simple Apple usually make things, I'm not saying I like them or their restrictive practices but it is usually easy!

Still, this doesn't lessen my warning to others to remove previously synced music doesn't with MM before syncing to the new iTouch\iPhone OS.
Of course I accept I am an idiot because normally I would have done this but was to keen on this occasion to update my iTouch music.

Hi,

after I installed 3.1.2.1267 I do not see any of my content in MM at all. All empty. Also my iPod Touch is not recognized.
Any ideas?

Thanky,
Christian

Montezuma, Sam,

Try installing build 1274+ and start a new thread if your still experiencing problems (this one has become a jumble).
