Using build 1284 here is a couple of things:

1) Installer does not remember previous tasks. I always deselelect the "Create a desktop icon" task but every time I install a new version it's always selected. That should definitely change and installer should use previous tasks.
2) Something is broken in build 1284 regarding the windows 7 taskbar integration. In 1283 I didn't have this problem.

Also why is it that every time after I install an upgrade, the following empty registry key is created?

Where did the other bug report go? Search does not search Encoder strings despite I have it selected in search options.

Fixed in build 1285.
- I haven't tested the updated installer, but all references to Songs-DB have been removed.

Can somebody let the developer know, that he should delete that registry key if it's empty even when installing. So when someone updates to a newer version that empty registry key will be removed.

Still present in 1285 after installing it an empty Songs-DB key is created.

Sorry--been deferred to MM 4.0 since some native plugins still look for that key.

but, it's not going to make it into 3.1.2. We're trying to release 3.1.2 and adding new features at this stage just increases the risk of delays.

Actually the installer remembered previous tasks in previous versions. Somewhere between 3.1 and 3.1.2 it got broken.

afaik the only installer settings that were remembered were the skin settings:
