Hi Guys
I'm pretty sure you are asked this all the time but I'm fired up by the possible functionality that has been hinted at that will make an appearance in version 4. So, the question is, can you give a ball park time frame for when any alphas might be ready for testing please.
Thanks and best regards
Goodog

I'm also not a MediaMonkey developer, but I do know that they've had problems with "ball park time frames" in the past. It raises expectations and then if something delays there are a minority of people who start to get angry. This is the reason that as a scripter I never give any indication of time frames.

Hi Guys
@Trixmoto and Gizzmo - Thank you for you replies, it makes sense not to committ when you are as yet unaware of the work that needs to be done and I can see that my request isn't really answerable at this stage.
@Roving Cowboy - You really aren't anywhere near as funny or as clever as you think you are.........

thanks for the backing up there jcfantasy23.
but seeing as it is now nov 29th 2010 and a whole year later, mm 4 is in alpha testing with a promised possible release to
beta testing in this month of dec. looks like i hit the nail on the head with my guess of the timing for the release.
so funny or not i'm right

jiri posted a report last month (well earlier this month) that they hoped to have a release for testing in about a month.

The last post from Jiri were he commented on a possible release was in October, where he said he wouldn't like it to take more than a month. His wording doesn't really warrant the use of the word "promise" in regard to a possible release. Besides, when we do see a public test version of MM, it will surely be an Alpha and not Beta.

october? um that long ago gee i thought it was just the start of nov.?
i take it some the other way as i said because mm 4 is such a huge step again from mm 3 with the addition of video that they would keep the alpha testing to themselfs before releasing the beta test. and any thing rusty or jiri say is golden. as in a yes next month golden.

i guess i'm just a deer in the headlights a little bit. i know its coming but i can't see it yet but i know its close, i'll just stand here and wait to see it before i move.

Actually mayor releases normally get the alpha testing first whereas minor releases start with beta releases. There have been plenty of indications that MM4 will be releases in alpha form first.
