ipod classic autosync stops randomly

For a few days now I have some problems with autosync of my iPod classic. MM starts off by creating a list where it already leaves out some 500 songs. Then it starts copying songs, but stops after an "x" number of songs (different evrytime). Anyway synchronisation is never complete. I also tried to sync by slection, so select the entire library and the sync. Again sunchronisation stops randomly, but is never complete. Before a few days ago everything worked fine. Does anybody have the same problem? Any suggestions? I use version 3.2.0.1294 of MM.

Same problem with my ipod classic 160 GB. Sometimes 760 files are copied, sometimes only about 400. Tried with synchronize button, also via sent to menu. At the moment I don't have any idea why this is the case?

It sounds like you guys are having a similar problem that I'm having with my iPod classic.
I have a discussion going on here already. Maybe you can join in and maybe we can get this figured out.

FYI,
I've been trying to narrow this down on my configuration. Right now I'm leaning towards Hard Drive file fragmentation. Are your Media files located on an external USB hard drive by any chance?
My current feeling is that files may be fragmented on an external hard drive which is connected on the same USB connection as the iPod. So a combination of fragmented files and the external drive and the iPod sharing the same USB connection may be causing the USB communication to slow down where it causes MediaMonkey to flake out during the iPod sync. I'm currently defragging my external HDD, I will let you know if this helps or fixes the problem. Let me know if your media files are located on an external USB HDD. Maybe we can find some common denominators with this problem. So far the common items seem to be iPod Classic and MM v3.2.0 but I've also been able to run into this on v3.1.1.

Thanks for the input. Mij media files are not on an external usb HDD. Really the problem started after installing the latest update of MM, i.e. version 3.2.0.1294. I did not have iTunes installed at the time the problem started. I put it back on my pc to reset my iPod and then try sunchronising again via MM, but the same thing happens over and over again with the same result. Synchronising stops after an "x" number of songs. Unfortunately I am now back to working with iTunes to fill my iPod. As far as cover art, coverflow, etc is concerned it is a mess, but all my songs are on my Ipod.
