Re: delete Album folders containing only jpgs - help please

I have been adding more than a few albums in flac format (since HDDs are now much cheaper I am going for better quality music files)
And using MM to delete the old mp3 files (from both MM library and my PC)
I now find I have many folders with no music files - they are mostly empty, with maybe just the odd jpg or txt file.
This is annoying me.
How can I find, locate, and remove easily, these now superfluous folders that once contained mp3 files.
There are far too many to do a manual/eyeball search for them.
Any ideas please...

Check out this awesome tool called Remove Empty Directories.
http://www.jonasjohn.de/lab/red.htm
The website was recently updated to state that RED isn't compatible with Windows 7. That surprised me because I have used RED on Windows 7 and it seemed to work fine. But I'm sure the developer knows more than I do and I would probably trust the developers warning.
With that being said, the website states that a fix is in the works. Hopefully it will be soon because RED is awesome.
Good luck!

I used Empty Folder Nuker
http://simonwai.com/developments/empty_folder_nuker/ to zap the empty folders. It worked with Win 7 for me.
The problem is, I now have folders that once contained mp3s
and jpgs and now, since MM has removed the mp3s, I am left with numerous unwanted folders that still contain the residual LP cover jpgs (Album art). I want those folders deleted.
There are far too many to eyeball and I need a way of displaying folders that contain jpgs and txt files but no music files.
How can I...???

I know that with "Remove Empty Directories" you can configure RED to mark folders as empty if they only contain a file-type which you specify. In this case, you can have it scan your music folder and tell it to show folders that only contain a jpg.
Just an idea.

Just to clarify in case anyone stumbles into this thread in the next few weeks, I contacted the developer of Remove Empty Directories (RED) about the Windows 7 "incompatibilities." His response was:
Some users told me that they had problems using the installer on windows 7. But if it worked for you it may only concern some users with a specific configuration...
Theoretically there should be no incompatibilities, the application should work on all systems that support the .NET Framework.
But I'm going to test that in the next weeks.
Personally, I've had zero problems with RED on Win7. And it has been invaluable for me.
I just thought I would clarify in case anyone was scared off by these "incompatibilities."
