Just updated the ipod touch to the new version
it did cause MM to crash with the library error but I renamed the dll (as outlined in quite a few posts here)
but MM can't see my ipod anymore in the Music Explorer Tree
it does connect to the pc - I can see it in windows explorer but not in MM
any advice
cheers

Well iOS4 has some features they should have had from the beginning plus some new ones, I can see why people download. It's just that MM always has to figure out how to get around all new iOS, and that takes time. Has any other 3rd party got iOS4 working?

And that workaround is the beta for 3.2.1.
It works just as usual

Can you confirm this? The information
released for 3.2.1 specifically states that it does not fix compatibility with iOS4, only with iTunes 9.2.
Note also that MediaMonkey 3.2.1 is _not_ compatible with iOS 4 (the latest
update to iPhone / iPod Touch firmware). This will be addressed in a subsequent
update to MediaMonkey.
Have you got 3.2.1 working with iOS4?

nope - just downloaded the new beta 3.1.2.1281 and after renaming the .dll to get MM working, when I connect the ipod touch it doesn't show in the menu tree

If you rename the dll you're never gonna get it to be recognized. The beta solves the issue with iTunes crashing MediaMonkey, but won't be able to sync with devices with IOS4 (no crashing though).

What were you doing when it crashed. A debug log would be really helpful for the developers in situations like this. Also make sure you have the latest beta as a new one was posted.

I was using beta 3.1.2.1281 - it just crashed on load
but you're right there is a new version out since - version 3.2.1.1297 -
just installed - no crash at startup and I can see the ipod in the menu tree but getting the following message
"the ipod/iphone firmware is not compatible with this version of mediamonkey. you'll be able to view the contents of the device but not right to it"
where are the debug logs and I can send them in if they'd be of any use

mind the media monkey posts say
they are "working on 3.2.2 which will add compatibility with iOS4"

Yeah, IOS4 isn't supported, so as long as MediaMonkey doesn't crash a debug log won't be needed.
