1353: deactivation of screen during video playback

Due to the power saving settings on my notebook the screen gets deactivated after some time. Playing videos in MM doesn't affect this behaviour, which can be frustrating so I think there needs to be an option to disable the deactivation of the screen during video playback.

should be a power setting in your laptop that allows you to set it for never turning off the screen.
it might be called same as on desktop which is " Always on "

try changing to that. but make sure you are plugged in to the wall for power as video eats up your laptop batterie. :)

of course i could change the system settings. the point is that i dont want to change them because normally it's a very useful feature, just not when i'm watching videos. VLC has that feature im talking about. When watching a video with vlc the screen wont turn off although there is no user input. i dont think vlc temporarily changes the system settings but maybe rather "fakes" user input thus preventing the deactivation of the screen.
I hope i made myself understandable :)

Are you playing in full screen when this happens. Many applications have a setting to prevent this in full screen (not sure about MM).

Yes, this also happens when playing in full screen mode.

well video in mediamonkey is only in mm 4 beta and is new this might be a feature to add down the road.

but i can't even get videos to play yet. so i know not seeing them is a pain but one thing that will let us know if it is
a error in mm 4 is if you will change the setting to always on and see if it still deactivates the screen.

if it does not then it has to be the feature you are wanting is not in mm 4 yet.

:D
