Node view: Album Artist or Artist

Hi
I'm not quite sure what's the default when I browse in the album node and artist node - are only artist shown, or both album artists and artists shown?
Anyway, I don't see any choice to switch between them - I would like it to be easy to switch between them.
I have many collection albums and remix albums - get a lot of artists then. I know I can filter the view, but still think my request make perfect sense.
e.g. for artist node, a choice to show album artists only (of course only where album artists is avilalbe
