Hi
thanks for such a useful program.
I have Nero 6 with the mp3PRO plug in. It states that "Songs encoded with mp3PRO at an encoding rate of 64kBit/s provide almost CD quality, which corresponds to a rate of 128 kBit/s."
My question is does your program work (tags, playlists) with mp3PRO - as it does with ordinary MP3's?

Thanks in advance

It's a lie, mp3PRO doesn't actually provide almost CD quality, at any bitrate. Your better off sticking with plain MP3.

Mp3 and Mp3Pro files use the same "system" to store tag data including artist ,title, duration etc. So MM, as any other mp3 capable player, can edit and catalogue mp3Pro files.
The problem comes to playback because if you don't have an mp3Pro plug-in for playback the file plays at "half quality" meaning that if you have a 64 mp3Pro file, it will play like a 64 simple mp3 file and so you will lose the extra quality of mp3Pro.
The good news is that you can download the mp3Pro input plug-in from Winamp site and install it in your MM directory and thus giving MM true Mp3Pro playback abilities.
I have to admit though that i agree with insomniac and i don't recommend Mp3Pro. The only reason i would use Mp3Pro is for playback on a portable player that supports it (which are quite few) and doesn't support a better high compression format like ACC (aka Mpeg4).
Today HD are very cheap so why sacrifizing quality for a few $ ?
I mean every day more and more people are adapting loseless formats like APE that achieve only a 1 to 4 compression but give true CD quality (not CD-Like) and the reason is that now they can afford it.....
