Tried it with the Dell Pocket DJ runnning the MTP firmware and it will transfer songs fine. It will still not transfer songs to a folder which already exists, however if the folder does not exist it will create the folder and transfer songs to that folder correctly.

The playlists transfer still do not work, I guess its the WMDM driver thats at fault this time as even Windows Media Player 10 does not transfer playlists, but Real Player and Musicmatch work correctly.

I still cannot edit the ID3 tags on the player.

But at least the song transfering is working somewhat correctly. Good job on that :)

jiri, are you experiencing the same problems as this? The Dell players are basically Creative players so there shouldn't be anything different between them. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? And did you use both the v1 firmware and the v2 MTP firmware?

The results with different firmwares on Creative Zen Micro were:

v1 (shipped with device): Quite buggy, playlist transfer not supported.

v2 (a very recent version): I haven't noticed any problem, all the features seem to work fine.

The new device plug-in framework supports any type of device and so if we find that WMDM drivers don't work well with a specific device, a new MM plug-in can be written by someone experienced in C or Delphi.

Alpha 3 results:

Ok I managed to get it working, syncs playlists well using the Auto-Sync option, but still it doesn't show up in Media Monkey. Its on the DJ however.

The only problem is if a folder exists songs which are suppose to go there dont.

Eg:
Suppose I accidentally delete American Idiot by Green Day and I want to sync it back manually.
Its suppose to go into:

Dell Pocket DJ\Music\Green Day\American Idiot
or
Music\<Artist>\<Album>\<Title>
^ i added the Music folder to keep it how I currently music stored.

So I play the one song in the Now Playing area. Click on Copy. Select Copy to Portable Device. And it does nothing. However if I were to delete the entire American Idiot folder then it will transfer over, but this now requires me to transfer the entire CD back.

Also editing an ID3 tag doesn't update on the player either.

So far the best way to get songs on the DJ is using Auto-Sync.

Also take note of what Balinsky said here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5719

And perhaps this thread should be renamed to just Dell DJ so that others can reply here with their probs. But like I said before the DJ's shouldn't be any different than Creative's Zen Players, so I guess what I can't get working is probably my fault. I'm still playing up with the settings tho.

Can't wait until MM has the ability edit tracks on the DJ, as well as show what playlists are on the DJ.

Keep up the good work!
