its first time i tried audio transcoding using mm4 and whether fileformat i wanna transcode into mp3 i get the error msg that the specified file couldnt be created (tried different harddrive destination as well).transcoding to any other format is fine.

im on 1426 >portable<, ffdshow beta 7 (audio decoding disabled for mediamonkey), xp sp2, and tried with admin account + as normal user.
tried to transcode wav, ape, m4a, ogg and mp3 files so far. all attempted files are playable, so its definately an encoder problem.

didnt replace the lame_enc.dll yet, will do so later.

Hi Dr. Snuggles,

Conversion is working fine for me. Can you tell me a bit more to help track this down?

1) Is this always failing on your system?
2) What OS?
3) Does transcoding to other formats work?
4) MP3 encoding is time-bombed to 30 days unless you've upgraded to Gold. Do you have the Gold version?
5) What is the exact text of the error message?
6) Can you please send a debug log?

Thanks.

And thanks to you and sleepmen for all the detailed feedback! As a result, there should also be a slight increase in performance for MP3 ripping.
