[1450] Become unstable again

Hello. Two freeze in 10 minuts. One when I click ok of the property windows, one when I change tab. I have to kill MM a lot of times again this week-end, the version 143x was very stable, but you destroy something again. This is probably the most hard issue I have when I use MM, not reproductible, totally aleatory. The big problem, is that I loose everytime my current environment, because this one is saved only when MM close properly.

Debug log please. I have not noticed any stability issues here.

Ok, this morning, I have a crash, I click send on the debug window with the error (~09:30GMT), and after that MM take around 1 minuts to change tab (Line 26002 of the debug log). Feel like a freeze, but not a freeze.

I post debug log and elf file here:

Serge,

fyi, You wrote offline that the bug occurs when you just just "open the Properties dialog and close with cancel." According to the logs, though, it looks like a tagging issue--are you sure you never did any tagging operation?

Also, to be sure: can you verify in Task Manager > Processes that only one instance of MediaMonkey is running?

Thanks.

Hi, I cannot replicate a freeze with the file provided by PM.

Did MediaMonkey generated the crash report when it frozen? Have you sent it? See item 4a) here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341
We would need the crash report to see what casued the freeze. Standard debug log in your PM didn't show much.

Thank you!

Hello Ludeck.

No crash, no report, just a freeze. With the freeze caused by the specified file, I wait a long time, but MM never come accessible again.

Could you please try ti hit RCTRL+LSHIFT+Tab to generate the report while MediaMonkey is frozen?
Maybe also one more standard debug log could show a clue.

The first log shown that it frozen when playback of the file finished, could you confirm? Or it is not related to the position in the file?

Hello Ludeck.

Ok I will try that if I have the problem again.

No, the playback never start. I double click on the list and MM directly freeze.
The output plugin was Asio4All, if that can help you.

Hello Ludeck

Another freeze this morning when I start to play another track.

I try to play the track from yesterday (Bill Evans), and no problems.
Change directory
Sort by albums
Play the first track, and MM freeze before the playback start

I try RCTRL+LSHIFT+Tab but nothing append. The log don't change.

My version is 1458 debug and the losg is here

Another playback freeze when I come back from the lunch. It's probably not related to the track, because this is another track again.

Hello

I can reproduce the playback freeze and understand why that append after a pause of my MM and at my work.

That append when I pause the current playback (because someone comme to talk with me) and start again the same track with a double click on the list.

Video is here:

vapkse,

So from the video, it appears that the repro steps are just:
1 Play file
2 Pause file
3 Double-click paused file
--> freeze

Does this bug occur with all of your audio files? Or is it just specific formats (e.g. MP3 or OGG, or M4A)? Or is it only specific files of a specific format (e.g. only particular MP3 files)?

Does the bug occur after you reboot your machine?

Lastly, does the bug occur with MediaMonkey 3?

Thanks!

Hello Rusty.

Yes, the use case you write is correct.

I have only Media Monkey 4 and MP3 or Flac on my machine. That append only with MP3, not Flac.

Is not a particular MP3, I can reproduce easely with different mp3.

I dont reboot my machine, from this morning.

As writed at the beginning of this post, I try with some older versions and before 1439, no freeze. What version you change the in_wmp3.dll?
