Search by file type [#8932]

It's been awhile since I've used MediaMonkey, maybe about two years now when it was in the mid to late 3.x. But back then I remember being able to sort though my collection by file type, since I have a wide variety & like keeping the different file qualities sorted. It also helps to find duplicates & sort out what albums I need to re-rip in a higher loss less format.

Well, I go to do that after updating to the most recent version of MM today, 4.0.2, only to find that this sort option is not there. The sort by type only lets me sort by music, podcast, audio book, music video, etc. This doesn't help me in anyway since I don't need to sort what type of content is in a file but what type of extension the file is; ex. .flac, .mp3, .wav, .m4v, etc.

Is there some new way to sort by file type like the good old days when things were useful?

Also, I'm trying to add a folder full of my TV Shows to be monitored, but none of the files are showing up under the TV node even after I tagged some with the TV Type. What's the best way to go about this?

Use the Extension column to sort on File Type.

Extension seems to be unavailable in the Quick Search: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... Search/4.0 You can use Advanced Search though.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking that it would be under something like that...didn't see it the first few times I looked for it.
