Rusty's message on MM 4.0.6 [1499] (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 35#p341507) implies some kind of closure. But there are many remaining problems that [1499], which I have downloaded and installed and am now running, does not solve.

1. MM still does not handle playlists on my iPod touch correctly. When I connect and MM does its scanning, it reports 11 instances of one playlist, but doesn't actually show me the content of any of the 11. There are two instances of another playlist, each with different content. A third has 3 instances, all the same, but with just 3 tracks listed while it actually has 151 on the iPod. And there are more. Has MM just decided to abandon properly dealing with playlists on IOS 5 devices?

2. MM does not show any of the artwork on my iPod touch. It is there, as it clearly appears on the iPod itself.

3. I cannot highlight and drag a track from MM to a playlist on my iPod. Nor can I Send to... an iPod playlist.

4. MM says there are 13.0 GB to sync to my iPod. I have all auto-syncing turned off -I believe - as I do not want MM to make such decisions for me. What could this possibly mean?

Can I expect anytime soon a version of MM that handles these issues properly? 1) & 3) are pretty essential and 2) is very important.

Which iPod touch? There aren't any known issues like in 1 & 2 that I'm aware, so you'll need to provide some more details.

Regarding 3, this has never been supported in MM. And regarding 4, that means you have some items checked under the auto-sync list tab.

I have reported 1) & 2) several times. It is a version 4, running IOS 5.1.1. Details:

1000 Must Hear is a playlist that was originally created in MM and synced to the iPod. Since then I have added new tracks to the playlist using the iPod itself (not MM). 1000 Heard is a playlist created on the iPod (no use was made of MM). After MM scans the iPod, it gets 1000 Must Hear totally wrong, reporting 11 instances of the playlist, all of which have 0 entries (in fact there are 950 tracks in it).

I disconnected the iPod from MM and on the iPod I created a new playlist, 1000 Need to Hear, and added all the songs in 1000 Must Hear to it. And then deleted Must Hear. When I connected the iPod again it found 11 instances of (the now deleted) 1000 Must Hear and no instances of the newly created 1000 Need to Hear.

I started deleting the 11 instances of Must Hear in MM. As I did so, the next instance of the playlist suddenly had content and as I moved through the list, that content grew until at instance 8 it had the correct number of tracks (950). Then at instance 9 it reported 1071 tracks, back to 26 for instances 10 and 11. Clearly, MM is not getting its information about the content of this playlist from the iPod. MM itself has a playlist called 1000 Must Hear, but it has 3066 files.

After disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod, MM no longer reports any instances of Must Hear, but incorrectly reports that 1000 Need to Hear (which it now reports) has 26 tracks (files). It actually has 950. Again, the information about the playlist is not coming from the iPod.

To work properly, MM needs to read what is ON the iPod, not what it thinks it put there. Users WILL change playlists on their iPod while it is disconnected from MM. If MM cannot recognise such changes, it is useless.

UPDATE: I discovered why MM reports only 26 tracks (files) in 1000 Need to Hear. That's because it somehow changed that playlist by deleting tracks from it. The tracks remain on the iPod, but have been removed from the playlist. Thanks MM !
