iPhone 5 Album Art Syncing Problem [#9763]

I am using MM 4.0.7.1504 (portable installation) under Windows 8 (64 bit) to synchronize music to my iPhone 5 running IOS 6.0. The latest iTunes version is installed. No plugins are installed in MM.
In the Auto-Sync settings for the device, I have only checked one AutoPlaylist that contains my best rated tracks. Some of these tracks have album art contained in their tags, some of them don't. Most tracks have an album assigned in their tags, some don't. Therefore, in the playlist, there are tracks with combinations like this:
- Track 1 has no "album" information set in the tag (album is unknown), but yet there is album art stored in the tag.
- Track 2 has no "album" information set in the tag (album is unknown), but yet there is album art stored in the tag. However, this album art differs from the one contained in Track 1.
- Track 3 does have "album" information set in the tag, and also album art stored in the tag.
- Track 4 does have "album" information set in the tag, and no album art.
In Options->Tagging, the checkboxes "Sync all Artwork to file folders" and "Copy Artwork to file tags" are both unchecked.
Expected result after syncing when playing the tracks using the iPhone Music app:
- Track 1 displays the album art of Track 1.
- Track 2 displays the album art of Track 2.
- Track 3 displays the album art of Track 3.
- Track 4 does not display album art.
Actual result:
- Track 1 display the album art of Track 1.
- Track 2 also displays the album art of Track 1 (!). I consider this a bug, because it should show the art of Track 2.
- Track 3 displays the album art of Track 3.
- Track 4 does not display album art.
So, there seems to be a problem when syncing multiple tracks to an iPhone that have no album information assigned, but still contain album art. All those tracks seem to be treated as one album called "Unknown" and all display the same album art (= the album art of the first track in the playlist with an unknown album), although the album arts in the tags are all different.
Is there any solution to this?
Best,
Hippo
