AutoTag TV from filename

Hi All,
I was looking for a tagging algorithm from filename for TV stored in format
T:\Tv\SeriesName\Season 01\S01E01 - Title
but some of the multi episode titles are S01E01-E02 - Title (as this is how my HTPC/extender software likes it)
this seemed to work
<Series>\Season<Season#>\S<Skip>E<Episode#><Skip>E<Skip>-<Title>
but i dont know why
hope it helps.
Maybe someone has a more succint way?

That's the way to do it.

Thank you for confirmation,
So now i have this workable expression to tag TV from filename, how do I ensure that this 'auto tag expression' is automatically applied to the right content when content is added to the library.
'right content' in this context might be any of
Specific ('TV') Scan folders,
Files with \TV\ in path
Files placed into a collection by means of another MM criteria
some other method of MM that i havent worked out yet.
thanks

You can't. Unless you go into the MediaMonkey.ini and add the mask and have Infer File Properties enabled under Tools > Options > Library. As I have never tried it I don't know how well this works.

i see the ini and the masks, but its not clear how to apply a mask or how it works.
Isn't automatic tagging on library ingestion critical? mm does after all have a setting to constantly scan file paths.
how could a recently added playlist work fully without library ingestion through an automated 'mask' (to use your word); to ensure correct tagging.
am i trying to use mm in an unintended way?
edit - just realised ...mm doesnt intend to provide its functionality just through an abstract index/database of tags, it actively wants to write tags back to the sourcefiles.
maybe this isnt the product for me:
i want to manage views/presentation of the library to dlna clients (using tags derived from filename/path), not re-tag the source files themselves (all my sourcefiles are perfectly taged/organised on the filesystem before mm gets to them).

Yes/No. MediaMonkey reads tags from the files which is a good thing, however Infer File Properties also tries to auto-guess them from the folder/filename. This is imo a bad thing as when guessing occurs mistakes are made. This is why I use Tools > Auto-Tag from Filename afterwards where I have control over the process.
To edit the MediaMonkey.ini entries you need to know the conversion from <Album> to %A which is described here:

That is an essential feature of a Media Manager, but this can be disabled by disabling the option Update tags when editing properties. Also for video files only few file types currently have tag writing support in MediaMonkey:
