RC2: No album art on Ipod at all!

Post by SnakeZZ »

Hi there folks!

First of all: A big thank you for such a schweet pice of software!

I just installed the latest beta and connected my Ipod Photo (20 GB). I totally reset the Ipod beforehand and put only a few playlists containing mp3's with album art onto it. When I play those mp3's from MM album art is shown, but as soon as I disconnect the Ipod there is no artwork to be shown while playing. I tried setting on and off those compatibilty switches - no change. I tried rebuilding the database on the Ipod - no change.

After that I loaded up itunes, played a song from the ipod disconnected... and violà... Album art for the song I just played.... none for the others....

Any hints on how to get this to work?

Thanks and nice holidays!

That's working here. Anyone else have this problem?

While not entirely the same, I'm unable to find or see any album art on my new 5th generation iPod, despite the fact that all my songs are tagged with album art. I'm using RC3.

As Rusty wrote, this should work fine for any iPod. In order to find out whether it's a bug or other problem, please e-mail me a debug log and files from your iPod (their location was described in previous iPod related threads here).

Instructions re. which debug information we need are at:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6309

If someone can get us the debug info quickly it would be much appreciated.

Thx.

I just did a clean install and is to see whether or not I still encounter the problem, if I do, I'll be sure to send you the debug info asap.

A clean installation of MediaMonkey 2.5 RC3 and reverting my iPod back to factory settings solved the problem: Every album now features album art. My completely unqualified guess would be that the problem is associated with either of these, and not just a random occurrence.

You should always restore the iPod when using it with pre-release software and/or switching between multiple iPod software apps.

The iTunes Music Database that they iPod uses is hokey.
