Cant Sync To iPod Vido

Post by MadFlava »

I cant seem to get any of my music to play on my iPod. I use MM all the time with my Shuffle and it works great but Im having 0 luck with the new iPod. Here's what happens.

Copy music over, music is on the player as you can play it directly off the player. However, when you try to play the music on the player itself, no artwork comes up and the songs just scroll through in about 1 second intervals.

Looks to me as if the database isnt being rebuilt properly.

Ive tried all the fixes mentioned here on the forums and nothing has made any difference. Hopefully there will be a fix forthcoming.

I had the same problem a few days ago trying to load a 60gig video. I intially tried to sync the whole library (a couple thousand tracks) and it did as you describe. I then manually tried a few albums and they played but there was other weirdness. For now I parked the player and am in the process of ripping around 500cd's into MM (whew!) until someone smarter can offer a solution.

Have you tried this?

"Make sure to enable the "compatibility settings" (iPod default file structure and 31-character filename limit)."

Try rebuilding device database after doing that. Or clear the iPod completely and then re-sync.

Make sure you are using the latest version of MM

Versions earlier than 2.5 do not support the latest generation iPod.

iPod Video problems

Post by rusty »

If you're still having this problem after using MM 2.5.2 beta 2, please send me a debug log and iPod DB contents as described at:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7245

Thx.

Before I try this, can I synch with MM and not screw up my iTunes database?

Synch question

Post by rusty »

MM doesn't touch your iTunes database.

As far as your iPod database, if you're using MM to synch your tracks don't use iTunes to synch and vice versa.
