Various Issues with using this App on HTC One

I'm not even sure where to begin to be honest. I've been using it for a month now and I've come across numerous issues involving both syncing my library of 5,000 songs and then how the app manages the library and reads the tags.

First off, on a successful full sync, the vast majority of my entries will have missing data in one shape or form, causing multiple albums to get lumped under "unknown artist" or multiple artists will be merged together into one single album that's usually empty. I'll also see missing album artwork or artwork that was paired with the wrong album. This was all done using wired sync on MMW 4.1 Gold and I was using the auto convert feature to convert high quality mp3 and FLAC files to low-quality mp3 files (128kbps) when syncing to the device. Now if I load up the music app that came pre-loaded with this device, it will show everything how it should be. All artists and albums are ordered correctly with accurate information and all the album art is where it belongs. Because of this, I believe the issue is how the MMA app is reading the tags.

I did notice an option in MMW 4.1 (use only the first value when multiple artists/composers exist) that suggested it may fix this problem in the help tip but I tried re-syncing with that enabled and it made no difference except now it was a different set of albums and artists that were completely garbled than what I got in the first attempt. I've fiddled with every tagging option available and none of them seem to want to output correctly. Of course, once the sync is complete, I can manually delete all the empty albums that are attributed to 4-5 random artists and I can manually add the missing tag information to get the library organized how I like it but this seems completely backwards for what this software is intended to do.

Now my next big issue is with the wireless sync in that it is completely unusable. Once again, I'm using auto-convert when syncing with it. So what happens whenever I tried to use it is that either the auto-convert would flat-out not do it's job and sync everything as-is or it would only sync a partial list of random songs. I think the desktop software might actually be crashing when I do this. Whenever I've tried to sync my whole library over wifi, I would return to it with the progress stalled and the desktop program terminated. It seems to work when I try small batches no larger than a single album but not when I'm doing the entire library it fails. I'm sorry I have no more information regarding the failures of an entire-library sync but I'm not going to sit in front of my computer for 5 hours waiting for it to fail just to see when it happens precisely.

The Third issue is syncing playists. This is another feature that just does not work for me. Whenever I try it, it usually give an empty entry for the playlist but it will also sometimes give me random results. In my last attempt for example, I tried syncing a playist of about 1000 of my favorite songs and all I got on my device was a playist of 33 completely random songs.

Post issues in existing threads, separate threads if not reported, include version of MMW and MMA used, and if you did a USB or wifi sync.

1) See discussion: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... it=unknown

2) Capture debug log (step 4b), send to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... f=21&t=341

3) Which versions, wifi/USB sync?

Hi Emmitt,

Thanks for the feedback.

1) should hopefully be resolved using the latest builds (MMA 175 / MMW 1667). Try deleting all tracks from the device, and deleting the contents of the /MediaMonkey directory on the device, and in Options > Applications > MediaMonkey click Clear Data; then install the new version and initiate a Wi-Fi sync. Also, keep in mind that MMA doesn't currently read track tags--it gets metadata directly from MMW or the Android mediastore.

2) debug logs would really help--I've not observed this issue.

3) There was a bug re. playlist synchronization in the last builds, that's fixed in the latest builds.

I'd love to hear how the latest build works out for you.

Thanks.
