MM and CCleaner: settings are sometimes deleted.

Sometimes after using CCleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner the settings for Mediamonkey are deleted, and I also have to fill out the password and username for MM Gold as well. CCLeaner are excluding the folders C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey\ and C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\ but the problem still happen from time to time. It even happens if MM is closed when the "cleaning" is being done. Are there other hidden folders I have to exclude or is there another fix for this annoying problem?

Win7 64-bit SP1
MM 4.1.0.1669 but it happened with 4.0.7 as well so I don't think it is a bug in the beta.

Ccleaner has an options section that you use to specifically exclude programs and or files. I have Media Monkey listed there. Also, be certain to uncheck the program in the cleaning list. This should solve the problem of losing the registration and other info that you mention for Media Monkey and other programs too. I would also suggest that you do a full reinstall of Ccleaner 4.08 after removing the current version. You will have to redo the "Exclude" list and do the unchecks.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks for the help so far. It seems like to problem only happens when I use the "wipe free space" option in Ccleaner. Does MM store any info in hidden files or something?

no.
what you need to do is run disk defragmenter and defrag your system before you use the wipe freespace. this will allow the system to recover any files that were left behind in freespace that were just parts of files that don't show up with enough size to make the color change when you look at it in the defragmenter graphic showing of the data on the hard drive, this happens a lot with data for somereason ? i always see the defraging jump in to the freespace shown and grab files so if you do that it should find and put them in the proper place then you can do the wipe free space if you want too.
if the files still gets wiped then let us know again because there is something wrong with the systems ability to see the file. 8)

It's my understanding this removes removed files. Normally when you delete a file it isn't actually deleted from the hard drive, instead the reference to it is removed from the hard drive's address book. That CCleaner setting would actually remove it from the hard drive (for data protection) to my understanding. This shouldn't affect any application as no used files should be affected.

After a few months without any problems the problem is back. I'm not entirely sure that CCleaner is the reason why the settings are wiped after a reboot, but I have uninstalled CCLeaner, removed everything in the registry related to CCleaner and done a fresh reinstall. I have unchecked MM from being cleaned by CCleaner and excluded C:\Program Files (x86)\MMonkey\ and C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\ but every now and then I have to reset every setting in MM after a restart. I even have to fill out the username and licence key for MM Gold

This is getting frustrating so I would really appreciate if someone could find a fix or something :D

I run CCleaner on timer every 24 hrs but at the time I do mmw isn't running I have been doing this for so long i don't think of it anymore. But I do not run mmw when doing system maintenance because of issues like losing songs. And maybe the ones you've seen.
I also run a registry cleaner on timer and defragmentor daily
1. Play music and when finished then you can do maintenance.
2. Do maintenance and only that don't use computer for anything else doing maintenance.
