Yes or No, MM works with iOS 8.4?

Posted: Wed Jul 01, 2015 1:56 pm
by Simple Question
Noticed the recent build supposedly works with iOS 9, but I just want a solid answer:

Does MediaMonkey work perfectly fine with iOS 8.4?

Will I be able to transfer songs? Will the artwork be there? Will my ipod explode?

That's a pretty solid answer.

As of last night, the answer is 'yes' ;-)

You need 4.1.8.1751+

Rusty,

Please excuse my asking a dumb question:

Is the + symbol in MM version 4.1.8.1751+ significant? Do I actually need to locate a download of this version which includes a plus symbol at the end?

Thanks :-)

He means build 1751 or greater (1752, 53, etc.) No such build exists yet but one will eventually

It would be great if they could get an 8.4-compliant version out soon. I can't copy anything to my iPhone 5 using MM anymore. Apple is always making its music player worse, while sabotaging third party apps and functionalities. I may switch to Android over this kind of thing (finally).

The current version (build 1751) is supposed to work with 8.4. If it doesn't work for you then please submit a bug report.

Hi,
I installed MM 4.1.8.1751, my iPhone is IOS 8.4 and I can see my phone with MM.
But, when I sync the album with my phone nothing happened and the album doesn't show in the iPhone.

Is iTunes up-to-date? If so submit a debug log as suggested above.

Hi - I posted a reply earlier in the thread that the latest MM was not working on my iPhone 5 with iOS 8.4. Good news: Now it is. Otherwise I would have happily posted a bug report. I realized, based on some other comments here, that I should just back up my iPhone locally on my PC to make sure the sync to my PC is working. I did that - and now it works. The mysterious ways of Apple... Anyway, I'm a big fan as always of MM and the forums/community that support it, and especially to the programmers taking on the neverending task of keeping up with this stuff.

Hi jsl

I run into the same trouble. In order to find a workaround I found your post. However I do not understand:

'that I should just back up my iPhone locally on my PC to make sure the sync to my PC is working'

The following is installed
MM 4.18.1751
iPhone OS 8.4
iTunes 12.2

Any advice is appreciated

Carsten

Hi there, I had the same issue and resolved it from advice posted in another thread in this forum. To fix this go to your iPhone's settings:

General -> Reset -> Reset all settings

This will reset you phone's settings but won't erase the data on your phone. My phone synced nice and proper after performing this step (managed to complete a sync with 4000 songs). Note I could sync with iTunes prior to performing this step, so the bug only seems to affect Media Monkey, but it definitely resides with some errant setting carried through on the iPhone when updating to IOS 8.4.

Enjoy :)

I have the same versions.
I don't even see my phone in MM.
I really don't feel like resetting my settings; Is this the only way to fix the problem?

Do iTunes (required) and Windows see the device?
