deleting files - database doesn't immediately update [#16628][#16635]

Hi,

Have been using MM5 for a while, on Win10 Pro 1909. HAve latest beta 5.0.0.2249. My library was upgraded from MM4, with gold licence.

I haven't deleted files from the library for a long time but started deleting some now, and noticed strange behaviour.

When I delete the file (delete from library and computer), it disappears from the screen. But if change to another album and come back to the same one, it is back in the list. The actual file has been moved to the bin. If I click on the entry in the list then it disappears. If I close and restart MM5 then the entry does seem to be gone and doesn't come back.

this is happening consistently with every file.

Any idea what could be causing this? Not sure if it is a bug with MM5 or some setting in MM5 or windows is causing it on my system...

thanks!

Are there any other database actions running when this happens? I can't seem to reproduce on build 2250.

Capture in a debug log (step 4b) if you can reproduce with 2250 and attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643

Hello - in case it helps track down the cause, I also noticed now that MM5 has stopped deleting the empty folders after it imports new music from the monitored folder.
thanks!

I guess you mean you have Auto-Organize running as well? Otherwise I'm not aware of MediaMonkey deleting empty folders on scanning.

yes that's right, i have auto-organize running and a "new music" folder (outside of the music library folder) where i put new files so that the auto-organize puts them in order in the actual music folder when it scans the "new music" folder each time MM5 starts. "delete empty folders" is checked under "automatically organize files" on scan. It used to delete the empty folder but doesn't any more.

Have observed something similar in the past, but unfortunately I can't reproduce it all the times.

I can replicate now thanks to mpollard's video capture attached to ticket DMX-174-70830, seems related to "List (by Album)" view with "Column Filter" enabled.
Enabling and using the "Column Filter" is the key to replicate.

To be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16628
