Android: flac playback stutters / fails (kitkat 4.4)
Updated by Russell Samuels on Feb 2, 2015

Recent Android devices usually support flac playback (as described at http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html ).
However, Android 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 contain a regression that results in stuttering / faulty playback of some flac files:

This is resolved in Android 4.4.3+, however, if you're running an earlier version, you can:
- delete all flac files from the device
- in MediaMonkey for Windows, in Tools > Options > Portable devices, set flac as an unsupported format in your devices auto-conversion settings. That way, when syncing, flac tracks will be auto-converted to a format that is supported on the device.
