Some mobile modems (e.g. Huawei E220 and E270--marketed as

Vodaphone EasyBox 1 & 2 or Huawei K3520 3G) use CD-Rom

Emulation to store a connection application and/or drivers for the

device. When MediaMonkey detects such a device, it thinks that it is

a CD and tries to Read the CD's Table of Contents and identifier, and any

CD-Text (if the CD isn't already in the library). As it does so, it often

causes the device to disconnect.



The solution to this is to:

1) Create a folder on your hard drive to backup the contents of your

    Device's emulated CD drive.

2) Copy all files from the Device's drive to the Backup folder, noting

    what drive letter is used by emulated CD drive.

3) Update the MediaMonkey.ini file to ignore the drive letter used by

    the Device by changing IgnoreDriveLetters=AB in MediaMonkey.ini so

    that it also contains the drive letter noted in Step 2. If you're not

4) Save the .ini file and Restart MediaMonkey.

5) If that fails to resolve the problem try the following (Windows XP).

    Note: You will need to have Administrative privileges to do this:

    1. Right Click On My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device

        Manager -> DVD/CD-ROM devices and Disable Huawei CD-Rom

        (Right Click -> Disable).

        Note: Sometimes it is also needed to be disabled in Disk drive section

    2. Device should be normally started from backup folder and all should

        work without problems
