If for some reason, your installation of MediaMonkey is corrupted, you can
do a clean install as described below:
1. Close MediaMonkey and verify via the Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE)
that it's no longer running.
2. Uninstall MediaMonkey.
This will remove the application, file associations, and registration information.
3. Delete the contents of /Program Files/MediaMonkey .
This removes any scripts, plugins, and configuration files.
4. Delete the .ini file(s) and database(s)--there may be more than one if you've
installed multiple versions. Make sure they're all deleted.
If you're not sure of their location, see:
NOTE: Deleting the database is only required if you're having database problems
or you wish to completely reset your synchronization profile.
5. Empty your browser's cache and download the latest version of MediaMonkey.
Install MediaMonkey, and register it (if you have a license key).
Alternatively, as of MediaMonkey 4.0 you can use a portable installation to test a clean
installation. Just check the option "Portable Installation" during the Setup wizard and choose
a different folder to install than you used previously. That way, the portable installation will not
have any effect on your current installation.
For a portable installation, simply delete the folder where you installed MediaMonkey
and reinstall for a clean installation.
