Customizing MediaMonkey

Customizing the Toolbar

The MediaMonkey toolbar is customizable. Five Toolbars are available providing shortcuts to commonly used functions: Standard, Advanced, Navigation, Edit, Categorize, Search. To enable or disable any of these, right-click anywhere on the toolbar and enable/disable the toolbar in question.

Customizing the View

By default, the MediaMonkey Player and Now Playing appear at the bottom. The positioning of any docked Window can be changed, if desired, by dragging it by the Titlebar to the desired location.

Customizing and Sorting Columns

By default, columns are sorted differently depending on the node selected. e.g. if Artists  is selected, Tracks are sorted by Artist. This can easily be changed by clicking the sort indicator at the top of any column. You can also sort by a second column if you wish, by pressing <Ctrl > and clicking a second column header.

The choice of which columns are displayed can be changed, as can their order. To change which columns are displayed, right-click on any column heading and choose which column you want to have displayed. To change the order, simply drag the column heading to the right or left.

Changing the Player's Location

The Player dialog can be docked at several locations on the screen. Simply drag and drop the Player's title bar to the upper left or upper right corners of MediaMonkey to change its location. Clicking the 'Minimize' button causes it to minimize to the Now Playing window, while 'Close' causes the Player to disappear from view (use View > Player to re-enable it). The middle button causes the player to shrink to a quarter of it's normal size.
